Well, I survived Scrapfest again! It was so good to see so many creative people in one place. Better yet to catch up with some old friends and new friends too! I felt really productive this weekend with my scrapbook pages. I am creating an A - Z book for my son (since I was not good at marking, categorizing, or organizing the photos of his youth). Here are a couple of pages that I felt came out particularly nice.
I just love this page. I was in love with the pictures to start with - and the layout sort of created itself. I entered this page in the layout contest - but it did not win! There is a whole lot of talent competing. I did win a photo contest though!
Here is the winning photo! I was astounded! It was judged by professionals too! So much fun!
Who doesn't have a Disney layout? Sweet and simple.
Next are photos of a layout from a class I took from Wendy Roux, Treasured Memories. They have a fabulous store in Lafayette and they were one of the vendors at Scrapfest. The neat thing about this layout is that it has a flip book that can hold a bunch of pictures on a layout.
What you probably can't see is all the popped up stuff, the pencil that is blinged with the new Pearl Pens. Those pens are cool! You can create your own flourishes with mini pearl dots! Fun!
Sorry for the glare of the page protector - but the flip book is connected to the outside of the page protector and allows for at least 15 more photos or journaling or embellishments. I feel this technique coming up in a scrapbook class in October! BOO!
CARD CLASS INFO
Who is ready to make a couple of cards? I am! I had such a great weekend at Scrapfest. I need more time to play with paper, do you?
Okay - The class for these cards will be on Wednesday, Sept. 28th at my house. There will be an afternoon class at 1:00 PM and an evening class 6:30 PM. The technique is Ink Resist and as you can see in the photo below, these projects are beautiful. Kudos to Sandi MacIver who created these cards. I just love her work and how easy she makes it! We will create two of these cards and a Halloween treat box. As always, please email me to secure your spot and drop a $10 check in the mail! I will send you a confirmation email.
Hope you all had a great weekend! I had lots of ink on my fingers! Get some on yours too!
Lotta Love to ya!
Lori
